Hi Everybody; As I was browsing various sites (classified ads mainly) doing some research on planning, designing and building a Rat Rod for myself, I discovered this site. I started reading some of the H.A.M.B. Tech Articles and found them to be extremely informative and well written!! As an inexperienced fabricator of sheetmetal, I can't tell those of you who wrote those articles, how much they are appreciated by a guy like myself!! It takes a lot of time and dedication to make those kinds of contributions and I just wanted to express my gratitude. I won't be much of a contributor but I can soak up the knowledge that other's offer up pretty good!! That was one of the reasons for wanting to join this site. Another reason for wanting to join, was the site's disipline. A no bullshit approach to buying/selling/posting etc. But what put me over-the-top; was the humor!! There were a couple of signatures that I've read and, comments within a post, that had me laughing so hard, I couldn't read the screen through the tears in my eyes! About me, 56 y/o, I work within the Auto Industry as a Rep for a Supplier to the Big 3. Over the past 20 years, I spent a good portion of my time in the Styling studios and my cravings for automotive design has only gotten to be more of an obsession. I also own a racing series here in MI. That keeps me busy on every weekend during the Summers. I've had older Vette's but now my interests have turned to Rat Rods. At first they didn't do anything for me. It was only after looking at what made a particular car interesting to me, followed by some mental gymnastics as to what it must've taken in the way of time, creativity and labor by the Builder to create that "look", did I start to realize just how much of an art-form they are or can be. I was hooked!! Well; I guess that's about it. Given the fact that I got here by accident and; I don't know shit about what I'm about to try and do, I think I'm pretty fortunate to have discovered a smart group like you who have a great sense of humor! Hope to meet some of you in person some day! Bob Kyostia
