Hello all, I'm Dan from Norwich, CT. I've been looking at this site for years, but just now got around to becomming a member. I'll start with some info about me I guess. I co-own a performance shop in Norwich, CT. We do mostly newer vehicles in the shop, both domestic and import, awd dyno, etc... but that's really not why I'm here. Don't get me wrong, if anyone needs anything, please let us know, just don't swing by and feel betrayed when we have a lot full of new Camaro's and trucks getting lifted or something. Let's face it though, I'm a boring story, so I'll introduce my rides. As a daily driver I rock a 79 El Camino, right now it has a 350/350 combo, decent body etc... One day it'll be built my way, but right now it's how I get around. Next is my 67 Chevy II Sedan. This car was my first car, I think I was 14 when we picked it up, had it stripped down to metal and painted and I drove it in HS before I tosses a pushrod. It sat for 8 years or so while I was in the Navy, swapped in a 350 and brought it up to CT while I was on shore duty. That car is awaiting on me to pull it apart and build it again, I'm thinking LS Drivetrain, front and rear clips, mini-tubbed for beefier tires, and a set of snails to speed things along. And now on to the ride that brought me to the HAMB. I just picked up a 53 Pontiac Catalina hard top. This car was a few years in the making I guess, I traded a paint job for it, and the metal work on the paint job took a while. Anyhow, right now the car is solid, the engine (straight 8) was supposed to have been rebuilt prior to going in heated storage (10 years worth) the dash was restored, front suspension rebuilt, and tranny (2 speed auto)rebuilt. Most of the chrome was re-chromed with the exception of the grill, and the stainless may all be there. The body is pretty solid, one poor patch panel on the passenger side rear wheel well, and lots of 15 year old mud here and there. I'll not get rid of the drivetrain, that monstrous straight-eight is just sexy in there. I just want to get it running, and probably convert it to a 12volt system. After a little body work, some flat bright green will be sprayed on the lower body with a white roof. Yeah, it's not exactly the style of this board, but the knowledge base here is great, so I'll be here anyway, lol. Thanks folks, I guess that's me in a nutshell.
