Howdy , thanks to Ryan for getting my limited keyboard skills ontrack so's I could post . Anyhoo , so I am an old fart that has enjoyed grease , cars , cool cats and smitten kittens ,the drive in scene , cruisn' before it became illegal , an ocassional street race , an all night thrash on a buddies car , smelling of 90 wt. gear oil, peggers, blue suede shoes , Big Daddy Roth , DA haircuts, Lucky Lager , Lucky Strikes and Hemis! The 50's and 60's ? If one can recall the 60's , he wasn't there!! I couldn't have grown up in a better town than Vegas , all night action , three big drive in restaurants back then , cruisin' Fremont street , a good friend that owned a junk yard and built home brewed race cars and had torches ,a boom truck AND a welder , plus several acres of of 30s to 50s cars and trucks , gear head heaven ! So to the handle "snap too" , it is to honor my fallen friend and race car driver , Billy Ellis , we were partners in a C/A Corvette , I built and he drove at the old Stardust Raceway , Pomona , Lions , Irwindale in the late 60s. His family owned So. Nevada Auto Parts, SNAP , so naturally the name was used on the Vette as most the parts were " donated" from the yard of late model totals . --- Hey, I like the smell , taste and feel over here . Billet Proof , traditional , disrespecful of Boyd,Foose and store boughten toys , mechanical mayhem on brown acid ! So what does a grandpa do for kicks ? Well son , I still got a Hemi out in the garage ready to go in something of a "sleeper" , haven't decided yet. Still make chips and sparks at work , go racing with Mike and Mousie and the "Winged Express" the absolute baddest fuel altered in the entire universe but my biggest love are the throng of traditionalists that hang out at the big end at Famoso .
