  1. Looking good! Anxious to see the peaks added.

Sorry if I missed it but what is the antenna plan?

I'm planning on frenching 2 antennas. Bill Hines was one of my hero's so I'm going to French them like he did... But I've been searching and searching for certain antennas that have that era look I want. Finally found a company that makes them. I'm pretty excited about them lol. I'll post a pic when I get them.

Ah, so hooded more than "beaked", good.
I feel beaked is slightly tweaked.
And hooded will look better with Lee's.

Man it's looking great! I'm no body man, but it seems like it would be really hard to get the two sides to match. Is it just experience and a good eyeball?

It was hard. I feel I got lucky most of the way. I measured a bunch... I mean a bunch!! Im still measuring! But I also took the time to use the peices cut out from one side... And make reverse templates for the other side just to mark where to cut. Then used the templates from the other side to make reverse templates for sheet metal. So far everything is identical.

    Thanks everyone!

I've been bending round bar, trying to get the perfect shape for these hoods/peaks/beaks what ever the hell they are.... So far I have a pile of bent pieces on the floor. Nothing I've liked.... And I don't wanna like it, I wanna love it! Well now I know what dies won't work. I'll keep at it. (I got an idea of how they'll sorta look tho.... Badass! Cant wait to show everyone!)

I would wait on the hoodpeakbeaks until you get the Lee lenses. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

No way!! They are taking too long! I already know what the bezels are like... Good enough for me!

Plus... I'm afraid actually getting the Lee lenses in the bezels, will be a whole other project! I know they need to go in, and where... But how do I do it?? I need help! Lol

Don't burn yourself out. Take a breather from it and work on your antennas. Helps me when I get frustrated on something. Step away for a bit and the fog will clear. Next thing you know it'll be crystal clear. Keep a sketch pad and a sharp pencil on your nightstand. Shit always seems to come to me when I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep. The creative juices start flowing.

At least I think that's what those juices are.

Sorry it's hard in my little garage... This car is up on stands with hardly room to move around it... And still have to fit my wife's piece of shit in there too. It's hard to get any pictures.

An easy way to bend up some beaks is to make a buck out of wood. Take a chunk of wood, use a course flapper disc and go to town. Will make short work out of forming the compound curves you want and both sides will be the same.

Thanks. I'm doing something similar. I'm using my tubing bender to get an edge, then using a piece of large tubing i got at the scrap yard and bending the profile. Works real well in my head...
