So i got a 47 ford. I am wanting to convert my 6v pos to ground to 12v neg to ground. I see some information on it in the forums when i search, thats helpful. but Im unsure about some things.

    1) when converting to neg to ground, is there anything else to it other than
swapping battery from pos to neg
swapping field and ground wires on the alternator
swapping the hot and ground wire on the temp gauge

    2)When swapping to 12v
what is a good battery to get that will fit and work as it should?
Has anyone used the PowerGen Alternator?
If i swap the voltage regulator, coil, solinoid, generator, headlight and taillight bulbs, for 12v and place a regulator on guages, will that be all i need? (i know my heat wont work, but that isnt even close to working anyway)

3)My ford had its flat6 removed and an 8 put in. would the gauges all still read correct?

    Well thanks for any advice.

This board is for you to tell us something about yourself, an introduction if you will. After you do that post your question on the main board forum to generate some discussion.

I welcome you to the HAMB. I advise searching around the board to learn the etiquette.
