Hey all...just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I haven't been a regular visitor, but have lurked from time to time. I'm the owner/admin at FORDification.com, which is a website devoted to the '67-'72 Ford trucks. I'm usually online there administering those forums, but we're having some difficulty right now (waiting on some tech support ***istance from my host) so I had some free time tonight, and thought I'd browse the forums here a little more and get some ideas for a project I have coming up. I just found this chop-top on E-bay and was able to pick it up for the grand total of $578, which includes basically everything to re***emble it except for the gl***. According to the seller this has a 6" chop. I haven't actually picked it up yet, it'll be another month or so before I can make the 700-mile trip to do so, but I'm already toying around with some ideas. At first I was considering mounting the cab/doors onto a 4x4 ch***is, just to be different, but now I'm kinda thinking about turning this into a slammed 'rat-rod' dually, using the front clip from an F600 (with the wider fenders and grille) and adding rear dually fenders....so it'll be low and w-i-d-e. I don't know what'll happen yet, still giving it some thought. Just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi.
Welcome from Texas. I've got an uncle that unfortunately hoards those trucks for no particular reason. All of them he has bought where nice running driving trucks. Now they are just ****tered on his place going to waste. I tried to buy one from him and he didn't want to sell any of them and he has over a dozen. I always thought it would be neat to see someone use the F600 fenders. The board has a 65 ish cutoff date so some people won't get too excited. Stick around. Lots to learn here.
