Hello to all. Larry Roller here in Tulsa. Just now joined your forum. Been reading it for awhile, and thought I'd join in. I'm not sure what to talk about first, so I'll just say I'm a 49 year old traditional hot rodder. I like real old school stuff. I'm not into street rods. I live in the Tulsa area. I'm building a 32 3-window hiboy dry lakes car from the 40's. Got a cherry frame from Ken Schmidt at Rolling Bones and had him set it up to clone his car. It's got a drilled stock big beam 32 axle with drilled split bones, 39 lincoln brakes, lever shocks, and Schroeder side steering. Winters quickchange, Model A rear x-member and spring, ladder bars, and 40 ford front wheels with 4.75x16 Firestone blackwalls and 56 F-100 16x5 rear wheels with 7.50x16's. Motorvation is by a 1965 327/250hp chevy and a muncie 4 speed. Aircraft buckets and lap belts, and a steering wheel from a B-24 Liberator Bomber. Top will be chopped 5 inches in front and 4.5 in the rear(it's only chopped 3 inches now) with the windshield posts laid back about 18 degrees. Primer? Hell yes! It's in pieces now, but hope to have it at B-ville in August.
welcome to the HAMB. Lookin' forward to seeing pics of the coupe as it progresses towards completion.
Thanks. I'm gonna hafta figure out how to post pics here. I'm a computer illiterate, but my ol lady's pretty sharp in that area.
Don't know how I forgot about Coweta. Have you ever heard of Karl Skalnik Hot Rods in Skiatook? He's building my car.
No, I'm not familiar with that shop. I use Legends between Glenpool and Sapulpa. Looking forward to seeing some pics of your car. CH
Welcome to the HAMB Larry. I hope to meet you this summer as I'll be traveling from NY with Ken, Keith and the gang. Right now my AV8 is torn apart so I can install a T5 behind my flathead. Hope it all checks out for the long haul. Otherwise I get to drive the support truck. Good luck finding the sheet metal you're looking for. AV8Paul
