Thanks guys! The floor will be done tomorrow...along with new patches in the rear fender wells...once these are done, the body's coming off, and I'm painting the frame, running brake lines and fuel lines, and painting the underside of the body. Then the body gets some ginder work, and paint it flat balck and put it back on the frame. Then it's put it together, wire it, make an exhaust, and go for a spin!

Here it is fellas! DONE! I took three shots of it before it went away...these were taken after we lowered it off of the jack stands...sorry about the blurry pic of me standing next to it...I'm just posting that one so you can get an idea of the stance and height...I'm 5'11" by the way...the highest point of the roof was where I was leaning on it...and that was 47 inches to the ground...I had a bunch of help on this from freinds and other Hambers too...I want to especially thank Wingnuts, Stratocaster, Louver Dude, Scallop 53, and Beebz from the Hamb, and Dino, Ernie, Fish, Scott, Jason, Donnie, Rick, Jeff, Denise, and Mike who will soon be brought over to the dark side... :)

I'll be postin more pics of it, as soon as Ernie gives me the ones that he took of it...and there should be some sort of You-tube going up about me and the scandoulous rendezvous with the cops on the car's test run...I'm gonna post all of these pics up on another thread now that it's done too...because I've had this thread going for some time, I don't think many Hambers are noticing the time frame we did this car in....Let me know what you think guys!

    Looking awesome CadillacKid!

Hope my A project turns out half as nice as your's is looking.

Here's a couple shots of my frame. I agree with you that it's really better to start over, than to try to piece something 75 year old junker back together. My frame is 2x4 .188 wall tube (a shade over 3/16") and is solid a s a rock, so yours will be plenty stout.

    Great job, keep us posted.

Thanks guys! I'm really happy the way this one turned out....oh yeah, and it's a '40 Ford steering box and column, we shortened the column about 8 inches...

The work looks ok I guess....I don't understand why there is such a hurry. Sounds like an episode of American Hot Rod...deadlines...pressure...mistery...WTF?

  20. This was going to be a liesurely built Hot Rod... However something came up that required immediate attention and this car was used to seal the deal.

The incentive was a "Very big Carrot" at the end of a stick...! So We joined forces to accomplish the single goal to make the car deal turn out to be a "Win Win" for everybody.

As far as what was at stake... I'll let Cadillackid and Carl H. tell you about it!;)

"Project Ape 1320" was worth all the effort put forth by everyone involved on this sedan build!

    Alright Aman, here ya go....

I traded this car to Carl Hagen Jr. for a steel bodied '41 Willys coupe. Project Ape 1320 is revealed! I haven't really said anything on here about the Willys yet...I was gonna save that for another post...a "look what followed me home this weekend" sort of post. :) The Willys is gonna involve a whole mess of work...but that never scared me off before....so right now, I guess I need to find me a 392 Hemi...Anybody? Anyone? I'm gonna try to duplicate the grey primered Willys coupe from the movie "Hot Rod"...The car in the movie was 426 powered...but I don't feel like spending $20,000 on a motor just because the price of Hemi Cudas went through the roof...
