Hi just joined & I need some info on a 1953 Chev sedan delivery.
Re: what model is the S/D based on / I have 53 S/D old hot rod that needs some work. It has a 350/350 drive line with a 12 bolt. The front end is stock 53 Chev . I have a chance to get 50 Chev 2dr sedan frame that's been done over with a fatman front end . I would like to complete the frame & then remove my body have the metal work done & put it on the finished frame. Will the frame work for my 53 ? I would appreciate any help. Thanks southbound

  2. Welcome to the Hamb,...good to have you here. Hope someone with first hand knowledge can give you the correct advice. I was wondering, usually when something goes south, it is not a good thing! How far southbound are you going? I work with advance design pickups. Your sedan delivery, is based on the car frame and body?

Fatman here. I had a 51 delivery and found out that it differs from the regular passenger car frames in the back, behind the rear axle. I don't think its a big deal, maybe just moving a crosmember since the deliveries have a unique gas tank underneath. I had a 49 fastback same time, and I know they are the same from the rear axle forward. At worst, you couls swap the rear frame rails if the differences are too great. Brent
