Hey there, I have been enjoying all your technical posts for some time and hope to do a few of my own in the future. I have nothing traditional I'm building at the moment, but have a very big 68 Chrysler 300 convertible that I do enjoy quite a bit. Think trashy 60's movie car.
Welcome from North Texas!!! I have a '66 Newport, good to see another C-Body out there still on the road. You got any pics?
Hi 66Newport. I have some pics but I'm looking here at work where I don't have access to them. It looks like you end I are going for the same vibe with your Newport. My 68 has shaved emblems, locks and handles and molded seams on the front & rear fender extensions. I am running 18" 5 spoke rims, big & little tires. The full power 440 has been rebuilt with mild mods & updates. I have a 68 Newport grill in the car as a chrome shop ruined my original 300 grille, but I really like the quad headlights versus the hidden ones from the 300. I had all removable panels dipped & stripped (cincinnati rust you know) and have had it in primer for the last few years. I am just glad to have it running again. It still has a few problems to fix (don't they all) but I hope to get it into paint this year, shiny or flat pearl I hav'nt decided yet. It will be red again though. We have 14deg. F. today, not exactly convertible weather! Later...
