Like I said, I'm new to HAMB, but by no means a late model. Computer consultant by day, metal worker by night. I have about 15 years of blacksmithing experience (yup hammers, anvils and coal) and 30+ years wrenching on almost everything from Model T's to Lotuses. I have a lot of metalworking tools including manual break, 55 ton Scotsman Ironworker (yet to be installed), CNC plasma cutting table, MIG, TIG and portable plasma cutter, so if you need to fabricate anything, ask I can probabily hook you up. My garage includes a unmolested, award winning 49 Merc with a flathead, a fully restored 77 Jeep CJ-7 for offroad fun and yes it goes off road, and I just picked a 52 Chevy Deluxe at Billetproof last weekend. That is how I found out about HAMB while talking to a friend of a friend at the show. Want to know anything else, ask.
Welcome aboard. There is something neat going on in your area, not exactly sure where the garage is BUT a HAMB guy that works for Chrysler is working on some innovative brake stuff for Jeeps for aftermarket applications in a shop in fenton. He lives in ANN Arbor but him and his partner rent a shop up there somewhere. When he gets back from teh Hot Rod Reunion in Blowing Green I'll point out your intro to him and let him tell ya little more about it. Maybe your Jeep can be a beta tester......I get to ride along though Again, welcome to the HAMB
Thanks Lady! I'd love to hook up with locals. I think I might know where the shop he is working out of is, as there is a newish 4X4 place just north of Fenton, but who knows. I was HEAVY into the jeep world about 7-8 years back, but family, health issues and lack of high speed internet access got in the way. So now I'm starting a new project the first in also 7 years and I guess I'll be around hanging around my the shop a lot, so figured I'd check this out.
