Hello, I have been reading here for a few weeks guess it is time for my introduction. I have been interested in cars for 40 years. My first car was a 60 Rambler station wagon but then had two 57 chevys. I spent most of high school scrounging parts for the 57 2dr. Truck 3spd., 283power pack heads,327 intake and carb. The best junk yard find back then was a hood for the 57 with two sets of louvers punched down each side. I got away from cars and into woodworking for years but when my oldest son turned 15 he was interested in cars so we built or restored a 79cutl*** and a 79 firebird for him. doing the engine and body work. He wondered where I learned how to do that stuff. My daughter needed a couple of cars so I started rebuilding late model wrecks. My last son wanted a 79 cutl*** and it is done, so now it is my turn. I found a pile of parts that turned out to be a 40 1/2 ton chevy truck project. It had a firebird front clip welded on and a late model rear end installed. I have painter the frame, ***embled the front end, rebuilt a 350 chevy motor and a 700r4 transmission. I am working on the cab now patching rusty places. I am just consumed over the stuff on this site, reading and learning about customs, rods, motors, and the cool people that are around them is my favorite thing. Makes me get back to the garage with new ides and drive. Now if I had the 57's from high school I would sell them to build something wild out of the Rambler wagon. Well guess I have said enough for now, would rather read and learn than post. Bob
