Hey guys. We've been busting ass on this thing since Detroit.. so check it out and let me know what you think! I'm doing all the web design myself, so I need all the critique I can get. www.eksposure.com
The wheels that are on that '36 that Troy did are just straight up kool. I will have to check out his site to see if he has any more detail on that car. Great pics and the top 10 that ya did are dead on. KNUX!
Go to Mozilla Firefox. I switched over from Internet Explorer and Mozilla is alot better. Thanx for the heads up on that to Laid55! KNUX!
Thanks so much for the comments guys. Druss32, I'll definitely look into that.. it shouldn't have those problems at all. This is also my first crack at any of this.. so maybe it's something I goofed up in Dreamweaver, or slicing the pages, or whatever. Either way thanks for letting me know. By the way guys.. I forgot to mention that all of the pictures are clickable... and that theres a link to an archive on pg. 20 with a lot more exstensive coverage. Thanks again guys.. it's really good to hear that people are enjoying this thing so far. -Josh
Hey, you asked for critiques... get rid of the javascript! Check out this website for TONS of good, cross browser (i.e. handles Firefox, Safari, IE and others) info... http://www.alistapart.com get the book "Designing with Web Standards" it's both excellent, and will save you TONS of time. Otherwise it looks good! Ben
I think it looks great man... Really nice work. That said, I wish the format was a little more original. To me the online magazine format you are using isn't an efficient way to display content. The Deadend boys can get away with it as that's their bag and part of their charm... I think you guys should look for your own.
Josh and Cass should take this quite far, Josh has good taste rather it be a Minitruck, Lowrider, Tradition Hot Rod, Street Rod, you name it... I wouldnt count on seeing rice or big wheels in the mag though haha, The mag will be a one stop place for seeing nice trucks and traditional rods and street rods in one place, The midwest/midsouth has needed this for a long time. There are alot of nice vehicles coming out of places like here in Louisville, Indianapolis, Nashville, Memphis, and even small towns that dont get the love they deserve now this gives the little guy a chance to see his name and car/truck in a nationally pushed online magazine.
Sorry...not interesting at all...in fact, boring...but that's just my opinion (and yes, I know, just like an asshole, everyone has one).
I don't know much about the technical aspects of an online mag, but i really enjoyed the "content"! I really dig what other peeps are doing in other areas of the nation. Great work!! I always wondered what it is about Louisville, KY. that fields such a diverse and ecletic car scene. A ton of high quality stuff there..... Joel
I didn't care for it. Too much, too confusing. The picture of the A roadster is way too much. Are you focused on the car or this guys over done garage? I didn't see any tools. If you photographing a car roll it out of the junk yard to take the snaps. And I just can't go for any mini trucks, sorry. I agree with Ryan about it needs to be more traditional if you want us to look at it. It seems that if you try to put everything in a magazine you going to lose customers from all classes of cars/trucks. I would never "buy" it, and I know it's free but if you picked one class of vehicle and stick with it, you'll be more successful. But want to I know.
Well.. personally I like traditional rods, kustoms, minitrucks, street rods, muscle cars, etc... and It's my magazine... so I'll put the things I like in it. That's the reason I work on it.. not to get "us" to look at it. I posted it here thinking some people might enjoy looking at it. And about the photography.. link me to some of your pics so I can get some pointers. I'm not making any cash off of this in any way. The advertisements you see are paid, but they're all donated to charity.. as are all other proceeds of the site. Off subject.. there ARE tools in MY garage.. and a minitruck parked next to a chopped/channeled '36 dodge pickup.
