i got a smoking deal on it pretty close to runing, iv had it for almost 2 mounthes now and have done a lot to make it driveable and reliable(like remount the body, gastank, did the brackes, welded up all the rear suspention, new carb, adjusted the pinion angel, and a bunch of litle ****), i have put about 500 miles on it so far and after my other projects are finished i plan to tear it all apart and build my own ch***ie and finish all the litle **** like bodywork and interior and so on,

tisk, tisk, tisk... I gotta agree with every else. You should have/could have knocked out the big dents and did some minor bodywork to get it a tad bit straighter but hey, if you want a skatepark for a roof, that's cool too... At least it's on the road. Oh, have fun sanding that rattlecan stuff ;)

Spending time fancying up body work don't make a **** for the price of one hill of beans. A lot of cars need body work because that's all they got going for them. It's obvious you are proud of your car and don't let some high and mighty deficition of 'pride' change you.

Yours is a *****in' car.

Have fun,

I like your pipes, did you do them yourself? Somebody said 'coat' them??? Jeeess.........h Crissst, they're ****in' exhaust pipes!

I like my green better tho. :D

sounds like you're in the wrong hobby. You apparently have enough time to take it to a show.

in the garage under the lights the dents really stand out. but he is driving it now and that's the fun of this hobby !!,you get to enjoy working on and driving your car as you see fit. (and that's my desert truck in his garage that he has built from scratch -4 link suspension, full roll cage,coil-over and byp*** shocks, air bump's all around, full fibergl*** ect:)next he wants to finish his Ls-1 powered 5-seat long travel desert car.then on to the coupe,so you see a spray-can paint job is just for fun

That $12 paint job will start showing some fine "patina" damn quick! Next year it will look like it's supposed to! A rattle can paint job quickly done over a primered, dented, rusted body! PERFECT!

I kind of like it more before, but I'm biased, because I'm not big on greens.

But hey, if you like it, that's all that counts, bro. More power to you.

If you're going to ask what we think, you gotta take the good with the bad, and get a thicker skin.

Do some body work....... Then brag about the 12.00 in paint, looks better in primer, at least it hid the dents better..... But hell u asked.... Looks great at 55....

13. It would be good in green, if it were a satin finish, the shinny paint just makes every dent stand out.

You guys are as "hard as nails". Cut the guy some slack!

I painted mine the same way and it won't take long for the "fake patina" as a couple of people on the forum pointed out..........................but it won't take long for the fake patina to come shinning through once it hits the road. I just didn't want to spend another $5k on body work and wanted to have some fun with the car before it gets blown apart again.
The ch***is and motor will blow most people out of the water anyway, so I'll wait till I get
the car sorted out before I spend more money.................besides it looks great from 15/20 feet.

IMHO

Looks like some of the race cars I see in the 50's issues of "HOT ROD". Not alot of time spent on body work, just slap some color on it and go racing!!!
Oh but that wouldn't be traditional now would it?

like I said in the beginning some day when I have less on my plate I will do more to it but for now I like the green more than primer so I’m going to drive the piss out of it.

Thanks for the positive and negative feed back I know not everyone will like it but I do and since it’s my car that’s all that matters

You asked for opinions and you got them! Its best on here to get it perfect before you ask for opinions! I actually like Green, but not that color. I think the gray was better. However with that said, build the car the way YOU want, just don't ask for opinions unless you are prepared to get what you got!

i like the color! way better the the primer grey! hope ya get the body all lined out one day...so then they can find something else to ***** about while driven there toyota!

27. Pick up a hammer and dollie, its a blast man. I don't care what color it is, with about an hour of work above that door you will be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. Definitely paint those pipes as well.

This post would be more interesting if all the bashers showed us pics of their perfect cars. I've always found the loudest mouths have the least to show.

A car with dents and off the wall color is certainly more fun than no car at all.

I think the paints an improvement. I look forward to the day when my truck is on the road and the paint may very well be from the rattle can. Call me crazy, but I though the hobby was about enjoying your car. Ignore the haters and enjoy your car.
