<style></style>He asked for opinions. yep. That was all. This is a rat rod. Not some wanna be show car. He drives it and enjoys it. So why rag on him about, you asked for it. He just asked what you thought. Not should I straighten it, chrome it and turn it into some show car you are afraid to drive. This car turns more heads than a lot of show cars. Why? Because most show cars all look the same pretty much. You seen one. You seen them all. Looks good I think
Just depends on where you're at in life and the hobby. 15 years ago I was less worried about body work and more worried about the fact that I went to 10 car shows a year in a 77 Toyota pickup. On my first hot rod build I put effort into the body work, but balanced it with the fact that I wanted to have some fun ASAP. Once you have something to drive, it's alot easier to be patient and take the time to build something a bit more pristine. The funny thing is, you may find out (like I did) that building is as much fun as driving.
The green and red doesn't really work for me. At least it's on the road and getting driven. I see so many rods that are parked away for years cos the Guy "should" do some bodywork and never gets round to it.... or the project gets bigger and bigger as i find more to fix/modify and opnce one area has ben sortd everything else might as well be fixed too and then all of a sudden it's been six months and I wonder where all my sleep, cash and social life has gone. Sometimes Its just better to drive em
Six months? I must be guilty of this too cause I spent 9 months on the roof of mine! Come to think of it I was wondering where all my sleep, cash and social life had gone?
Sorry, I guess I was having trouble seeing the color over everyone's puffed out chests and super ******** awesomeness. I see it now. It's... green.
Damn ...how do you get in that thing..what are you like 6'8" ... Dig the color and i'm sure you know it would would better with some body workbut i understand time and priorities...damn good 12 buck spend
I was gonna ask if everyone else painted their cars pink to match their pu**ies? I'm kidding, I like the green better. But it is a bit much with the red frame, ah who cares... As long as it's safe drive the f*cking thing and enjoy it.
KOOL~! you have ...umm...doors!!!?!?!?! now ill stop given you **** long enough to say i really dig that color!
I spewed coffee on my keyboard.....thanks for the laugh...and burning nostils. I'm stealing it for my sig
what's all this talk about hobby? i understand what your say but this thing called hot rodding is my ****in life. it stopped being a hobby when i grew a pair and stopped half ***ing things. why not do everything the very best you can instead of settling, i don't do that in life, why would hot rods be any different. just my 2 cents. i am not lucky enough to have a car related job but i know i constantly think about my projects and cars in general.
Well I know where Im NOT putting pictures of my car regarding color or body work. **** man, keep this on the low but I like your car. Also, how in the hell do you fit in there. **** your like 6'-6" or something. Hey keep it green and then later down the road do the body work and watch your damn head getting in and out.
Buy the cheap cans at the flea marfet and spend the money you save on bondo or playdough, anything to fill the dents. Actualy I don't expect more from someone that would choose that baby **** green color. Obviously your color choice is meant as a social demonstration but your energy would be better spent helping PETA Jim
WOW what a thread. Its your car have fun with it. As long as you like it. At least you can drive yours. Mines in a million pieces. Well maybe a couple hundred. I don't think model a's came with that many parts.
Very traditional...haha...nice job FNG. I think the consensus is: It needs body work, the color looks good to some, like **** to others, BUT it's YOURS. For $12 it's an improvement despite all the drama.
I really need to get in on this one.. since he asked what everyone thought and ive read all the damn posts ive come to a conclusion... I really dont give a rats *** one way or the other.. Dave
Actually, I like the color. Sure the dents should have been pounded out. But if it was original paint and dented like that, would everyone be so quick to judge? *shrugs* Those dents would be easy to pound out and make look alot better. What have you got to lose? Fix them and spend another $3 on the repaint of the roof. I think you've opened a can of worms and as stated, the christmas combo has to go. I'd paint the frame black, paint the headers black and pick another color for the engine. This is funny...
