is there a newport that would fit my 41 cad?

 

As a sidebar, I installed their motor in my 51 F1 but had jeep wipers which was common. They didn't have enough spring tension to hold them on the windshield at 65 mph. I bought the Newport versions and that solved the problem.

@krylon32, I was just looking at Newport's website and don't see any wipers for a Deuce except for the 3 window. Did you adapt the 3 window kit to fit your other 32 body styles? I have a tudor sedan and would like to do something as the previous owner installed a wiper motor that is too large to fit behind the header panel.

 

Put one with intermittent in my 1960 Ford Galaxie. Abo****ely awesome!!!

 

I have them in my 56. ***** to install, made easier when I figured out a better way. Used a few times. No rain in SoCal to speak of.

 

AD GM truck, rear wiper motor from a S10 type Blazer, some traditional skill and thinking, reliable one speed wipers for the cost of a large pizza..

 

I've installed 3 in my '40-'41 p/u's..anyone on the fence should consider it the ONLY one to use.

 

I have them in my 51 Ford F1 and in my 57 Mercury before that and they both worked great. Probably one of the few things I have bought that I didn't have to modify.

 

I put one of their two speed units in my 1955 chevy. It was easy, and it I like it, but is there a way to make the sweep area bigger? It parks in the correct position, but I would like it to go out farther to the outer edge of the windshield.

 

Bob and Linda are great people and they have always delivered quality products to me. I strayed on my 40 Ford SD and wish I hadn't. Newport will be my go to from here on out.

As Rock posted earlier, the couple that owns the business are the best. I have used several of their windshield wiper conversions and all have been great.

 

Not to do with Newport but I just converted a '57 Chev pickup to electric wipers. We found 3 old wood bodied motorhomes at junkyard. These had separate wiper motors for the two wipers so they would have that back and forth pivot motion that the old vacuum motor had. I just adapted the new motor in place and everything works out fine. Two speeds with park and I found a Made in Thailand intermittent switch on ebay.

 

Newport is the best wiper hands down. Almost twenty years ago I installed it in my 51 ford coupe and it was a perfect fit from the start. A few years later I was having a problem and they perfectly diagnosed it and I was able to correct it, nothing wrong with their product ever.

 

I put the deluxe kit in my 59 and I’m very happy with the quality and the results. I was able to use the factory knob and it worked like a charm.

However, and I hate to be that guy, but lead time was around 8 months, which was not explained when I made the purchase.

I can still recommend their products and I’ll ask more direct questions regarding availability next time.
