I picked up a new power plant for Big Bertha last night. Bought a 97 3500hd with a vortec 454. It only has 51K miles on it. Should be a good upgrade for the vortec 350.

I wondered if you were gonna think that 350 was working too hard! All I can say is you think it used fuel, just wait! Garry

it might do better based on the fact it will have enough power...but who knows.

I cant justify the money for a d-max. From looking at my brothers truck it appears to be too wide to fit between the frame rails. My valve covers are level with the top of the frame. I have 1" clearance for the big block so it should be interesting. Motor has to come out the bottom of the truck too.

Big Bertha fire right up tonight. I guess my wiring skills were good. what a difference 104 cubic inches makes. I need to make a few new exhaust pieces and it will be good to go. Cant wait to see how she does next week when I get the camper out of storage.

I'll be up there July 4th - 7th. I want to take a look at it and check your truck out also.
