had a friend of mine who is a machinist make me up a set of these awhile back to adress a couple issues i had with putting a small block ford in my model a ! first issue i had was i couldn't find an valve cover i liked to go w the theme of the car , small block valve covers just have an odd shape to me and didn't fit the criteria ! issue 2 i'm running roller rockers which would require valve cover spacers anyway or to go with some ****ty pollished aluminum high rise covers ! so we came up with these , an adapter to run fe valve covers on small block heads , i know i know everyone is screaming poser right now , not the case ! as stated i wanted something a little earlier looking , i needed the clearance , and i have and own fe engines a quick look and no one will be fooled , except maybe the chevy guys :D ! with that being said would anyone be interested in these ? we have a fixture made up and they are made from 6160 aluminum w all stainless hardware ! these are ready to be produced just asking for some input ! thanks brock

I have a 351w that has the horrible valve covers, would these spacers fit it? What is the price? How would you score a set of FE covers, anyone make them? Do you end up running a set of FE cover gaskets and a set of 351w stock gaskets?

Do you run a set of the late cover gaskets on the bottom of the adaptor and a set of FE cover gaskets on the top or are there O-rings like the late Chevy to early Chevy adaptors?

yes i believe they should fit the 351 also ! price is costly at probablly around $ 150 a set , but when i looked into just spacers for small block covers to clear roller rockers they were more than that ! yes you use a small block gasket and fe gasket !

The Fords I have don't require valve covers but this is a great product. IMHO I think the big reason to not run a ford is they look to muscle car in a early car!! Good luck.

I had the chevy ones with the o-ring. They leaked real bad so i took them off.

  8. One of the problems for me looks wise for the SBF has always been the rocker covers. Granted you can go with the cobra jet covers but they just don't float my boat.

There are several covers for rhe FE that I like. Looks like you found a solution to a problem, problem solving is a big part of hot rodding.

I like the look of this, I have to research this a bit to see what the interchange ability is. Just confirming that this engine of yours is what looks to be a 302 ford, with aftermarket heads. Are you covering full size billet roller rockers or the stamped steel type roller rockers? I thought that I had seen another maker doing these, I think the price point was similar, plus the FE covers, but yeah the tall boys are not cheap either. If your friend is making them would he be able to make them even taller?

Just so you know all 260, 289, 302 (other than BOSS), 351W use the same valve cover bolt pattern and they interchange.
As for center bolt Chevy to traditional Chevy, they are $89.95 at Speedway and they work great.
FE valve covers are available from many sources, stamped steel to Cobra 427 and LeMans style finned aluminum.

There also is someone making FE style Aluminum valve covers for the 302/351 heads.

Those old-school T-Bird covers look much better on that car than the more contemporary shiny aluminum small block covers ever could. Nice solution to your problem.

Very cool part. I know it would require a total redesign, but it'd be cool if someone came up with an adapter to put FE or Y-block covers on a 429/460. All I can find for em are either billet or chinese chrome...

    (a) the adapters are cool and should sell.

yes we could make them taller if needed i guess but i don't see any clearance problems as the fe covers are plenty deep , the adapters are made from 3/8 6160 aluminum and i chose to keep them thin so they dont stand out !

Ya think if I flipped 'em upside down I could fool anyone into thinking the FE in my falcon is a smallblock??

NOW you got 'em! I saw your old posts and had to go with my NOS FE T-bird VC on my 302! I PM'ed you then but you were not ready so I ordered from a Cobra place for $175. I had to redrill several holes to make them fit right. Oh well, that is a great swap. And you're not a poser any more than using early VC on a late Chevy SB.

I have a real nice pair of Thunderbird FE valve covers ,stamped steel with the Thunderbird name just like dirtbag13 used if anyone needs a set.

I was going to use them on a SBF but have since switched to a 312 Y block.

Hey there Blue One. Greetings from Toronto (and no! we don't all think that Toronto is the centre of the Canadian universe).
Please let me know more about your valve covers - condition, price, etc.
    Thanks in advance.
