Got a couple of bits done in between my new Grandpa duties :D

The doors that came with the car were of the earlier type with the front opening interior handles/lock mechanism.,and of course the locks that i got off Egay were the later type ::) that work from the centre of the door. So luckily i had one of the original doors to copy off. So armed again with my trusty bead roller (Everyone should invest in one of these, love it ;D) I set about making a recessed panel

this is what it should look like

and welded in place and working :)

next on the agenda the dreaded rot at the rear below the rear window area :(

cut it out as there is a support bracket underneath which is causing the swelling

after cleaning up the bracket and re installing it i started to put new section in

    all done

All this man needs is a set of door handles & he will build a car ... You got it going on Brother and this is why I love the HAMB ...

Unfortunately not a lot has happened as life seems to have got in the way as of late. My health , family and work are playing havoc with me ,but there is light and i can see it coming:) so will get back into it full steam ahead as soon as.

I am still hoping that decent grille shell will fall into my lap I have put a advert out for bits that I need so hopefully that comes through.;)

We have had good weather so at least i have been out in the roadster which has kept the fire burning, And that is about it really....

  6. Hi Bob,

we all can`t wait to see this 34 Coupe running on the streets :)

Your Model A is doing great...I just ordered a set of Firestone Bias Ply WW (the ones you originally also drove on it).
I might also change the Ring & pinion gears on it. Currently i have 3.8 ratio with the TH350.
But at 60 Mph i have almost 3000rpm.... Highway Speed here is about 75Mph when we drive in a big group.
So whether I install maybe a 3.0 or 2.8 or maybe I switch to a TH700R4 or 2004R transmission.... not sure yet.
