Projects New projects in 2023?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Dec 26, 2022.

  1. Are you planning or dreaming of starting a project in the coming new year, or perhaps breathing new life in a stalled hot rod or custom. HRP

I drug this one home a bit ago, it has been patiently waiting it's turn.
sota2.jpg The roof is butchered, and it has a 1/4 inch thick firewall, but it is actually in pretty decent shape.

I dunno. I want to get finished up with the AC install on the Lincoln, then start body work and hopefully paint before fall. After that, who knows? I’ve got an OT 82 F100 that belonged to my late son I’d like to do something with. But something else may come along, so not making any plans. I just take each day as it comes, thankful to still be here….

Time to get it done

Honestly, I am hoping that I can do some long awaited work to my 56 this year. It is time for a mechanical and interior overhaul. Oh, and I also want to get my GMC that I picked up recently on the road and sitting lower.

Wanting to get the 1950 F1 finished and on the road as a daily driver. Hoping to save on the price of filling up my diesel truck.

After buying and tinkering with 2 Tri Fives not really needed in the past few years the 32 is scheduled to be pulled to the forward burner. F213229A-ABE4-4BCF-A972-52B2694FECF1.jpeg 940448F5-4CE8-4872-87ED-81C5BB1590F0.jpeg

I have a 1926 model T roadster pickup I need to stop dragging my ass on. I have most all of the parts to make a pre war build. I also have a runner 8ba engine, and a 29a/99a ish engine that needs to be re done. The attached picture is when I first got the tub and bed. Currently messing with the banjo tubes, and stripping one of the engines. Never enough time! IMG_20201227_184332_2.jpg

I have two old pick ups to sell (‘38 Plymouth truck and ‘28/‘29 Ford truck) to make room physically and mentally.

Want to get a couple seemingly forever languishing projects going so I can enjoy them. No lofty goals, just finish what I’ve started. Interested in seeing what 2023 brings…

I’ve been collecting parts for years to do a refresh that will begin in 2023. First pic is me and the car circa 79. Some of the updates aren’t hamb friendly so I’ll be posting the build on YouTube.

Shit, to be honest, I think my new project will be to clear room to easily get rid of a few old projects. At 61 I really don’t need 3 old trucks, and a few OT things. Figure it’s time to do it before I get too old to do it.
Sorry to be a bummer, just being realistic.

I have way too many now. Nothing new. I need to finish the roadster interior and fix the rear main leak. Kim’s 55 is on hold til I get the 56 up and running to replace my daily.

And on it goes. Awesome. LOL
Good to see everybody has plans.

    Me, too! :)
I've been so busy trying to catch up on other stuff first. But I'm getting close. I think we might actually see Rickybop do something pretty soon.

I'm telling you, I'm so starved when it comes to this stuff, I can hardly wait to get started. No task will be too mundane. I'll be whistling a tune, just scrubbing the engine block. :D

You gonna be working on your Ford truck, Danny?

    Good luck to everybody.

  22. My plan is to finish the interior on the F-1 and continue putting the faux 32 together.

  24. Similar here, back on the GMC for a daily. Fix the OT s10 (weekend job) that kissed a deer for another set of wheels. Then, using up xtra parts and building a little modified.

OK, I give up. What's the cowl? No doubt someone will say Dodge.

As for me, the new year should bring the completion and debut of the FED I've been fiddling with for about a year. And I thought it could be built in 6 to 9 months.o_O

Plan to add a Rod Top to my roadster. Getting too old for the sun and rain beating on me.

  28. The only thing I can say is that Retirement so far has Not gone according to plans, but what the hell, I'm really enjoying the new unplanned events every day.

Definitely must finish the 32 Tudor build, get an interior of some sort in it, and get some miles on it before I try any stupid long trips in it.

Hey Lynn, the cowl is from a 1929 Chrysler 65 series roadster.
