awesome car, and the six just makes it cooler in my book. Everything just fits on that car, Ford frame and all. We should just enjoy the car for what it is, as that's the way one guy wanted to build it.
I was never into inline's before, and although i probably wouldn't run one in a hot rod ( i do have one in my 53 chevy and it'll stay inline powered as long as i own it ), this car is a PERFECT example that it can be done, should be done and look great when done right. This look's like one VERY nice HOTROD..
That's the Coupe that got away!!! I tried to buy that car at Long Beach Swap, but the guy didn't take me seriously, didn't return my calls. Wanted it REAL bad! Hope he likes it...I sure did.
That Chevy is BADASS!!! I love it just the way it is. Perfect stance too... Also...that's a Chevy grill too. NOT a Duece!
That Duece is the car Paul built...and sold.. you might remember Paul. Hes was the guy with to 40 DeSoto y'all were drooling over at Paso.
Yea,I remember Paul...That Duece's engine and dash was painted with the same red paint he put on the DeSoto. If I remember correctly, the seat was a Mini-van,third seat.
Like most that responded to this thread, I was blown away by the car when I saw it in R & C. I love '32 Fords but what can you do to one of them to make it stand out? (Without butchering it). But this car just popped off the pages. After all this discussion, however, I was amazed that no one questioned the article's statement that the engine is a '54 Chevy 302 bored to 310. There were no six cylinder Chevy 302s; GMCs yes.
That Chevy shows up at John's Burger here in Livermore once in a while... and man, is it even cooler in person. It would be even neater to see it driving around town once in a while... maybe even cruising the downtown areea... but I think he might live over on the North-East side of town. Sam.
I would normally agree with 36couper about using a 6. but the proportions of the chevy body (roof length) that the 6 works very well. keeps the front from being to short compared to other sections..
2 from this year's Paso Cruise. I think the car is tits. A GMC-powered early Chevy? Aaabsolutely. I think the Deuce frame looks a lot better than it would have on a GM frame.
That car left me SPEECHLESS...literally! Most of the cars i've ever owned have been 6's and i just cant get enough of them but when i saw this i just lost it. I just keep going back to look at it and i love that fact he 'thought outside' the relm of things to put the 6 in there..My 58 was originally a 6 wich i would like to put back in there so i can finally use my Wayne engine kit ..Anyway, This car is as perfect as it gets and like most of his work its just amazing. That dude is no joke when it comes to building quality rides!!
50Fraud.....you should be a pro photographer. Every time I think I'll never build another shiny car, I think about that chev....
Who is it that has that 'bad@ss' bare metal roadster with the 6 in it that was photographed with Steve Sellers 6cyl pick up in Roddrs Journal??? These are my Top 3 favorite rides now..
dont denigrate the sixes so fast. check out the oct, nov, and dec 2007 issues of mustangs and fords. they have a build up of a 250 ford small six, with a turbo, that is going into a first gen falcon that runs 10's in the 1/4 mile. and yes you read that right 10's. also check out the forums at fordsix.com, and check out classicinlines.com for six cylinder ford parts. classicinlines has a new aluminum head on the market for the small six, and is currently developing an aluminum head for the big six. eventually they are planning to get into parts for other six cylinder engines.
I love that coupe!!! Unfuckin believable! I think there is a chevy coupe locally that wont have any ford parts. Jeff
Noooo. Sometimes I get lucky, but my stuff is not at all consistent. Thanks for the kind words, though!
One more time to the top, I just love this car. Kudos to those runnin the 6's. I would love to see an early fenderless, channeled, chopped buick with a straight 8!
yes there was...rochester, also berrien springs.....Rochester was 98 and my first show with the roadster...then rochester again in 99....and 2000 in berrien springs. Could be wrong on the dates, but not the cities...I was there for em.
I thought the same thing about this coupe when the mag came out. Bitchin car... and I really am not a fan of 6cyl. This one transcends...
I think a lot of us would like to see (and especially hear) a clip of this coupe rumbling along at one of the shows where it is pictured. Anybody have anything?
