My rear seat was beyond repair almost, and besides I needed some storage space for tools and such so I made my own rear seats: Not excactly uphlstery quality but it works for me. I sacrified sitting comfort for storage so its sitting pretty high but any friends 5 feet or smaller are welcome to sit here. r are welcome though : he he.
I didn't think too many people, especially my age, wanted to climb in and out of a chopped Tudor, so I set it up primarily to haul. I installed a 50 Ford pickup gas tank, which fit perfectly and converted the rear window to a power window which I can control from the front for ventilation. I then built a plywood cover and seat base over the tank. I installed two Optima 6V batteries connected in series on either side of the seat area, ran the floor carpeting over the plywood up to the window, built arm rests over the batteries and installed a removable padded block between the arm rests allowing me easy access to the batteries and hauling area with the bench removed.
Looks nice Wuga but I wanted a trad look so I kept the seat area with a tweed-ish look. And power window are way to fancy for me he he. You have AC. PS and PB too.
