just paid deposit on this wildcat, and i pick it up on the 15th. got it down in orange so you socal guys might know the car, or the owner. i sold my bucket and made a good profit from it and a i cant possibly have an empty garage!! shes bagged on all 4 corners, and just had the 401 rebuilt. interior is tired, but white tuck and roll is on it's way. (sorry about the links, for some reason i am getting red X's when i try to upload the URL.) http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Alex15143/eeec_12.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Alex15143/1550_12.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Alex15143/2384_12.jpg
Great car. In the shop I use to work at years ago, this honest to god "little old lady" use to bring in her 12k mile Wildcat. Man I loved that car.
Nice Buick! The 62 had a great body style! I'm glad to hear you're doing a white tuck n roll interior too!
i think that is the car that one of my club brothers was going to buy.if it is the same car, he said the quarters were full of bondo.it might not be the same, but i think it is.nice looking though, -Jimmy-
you know she's gotta ride around in style! i told her i got the wildcat (with the bucket seats) so her boyfriend will keep his hands off of her while i'm gone this car screams bellflowers and tuck and roll!!! could have alot of tats, his name is brant....
Nice kar! Are you sure it's a Wildkat and not an Electra 225? The reason I'm saying is Wildkats have 3 portholes on the front fenders and Electras had 4. Either way, nice ride. Buicks are great kruisers--I love mine! E
Nice lookin car. It is also nice to have another 62 owner around. I agree with the previous post. It looks more like a Electra than a Wildcat. Wildcats were about 9" shorter than the Electra (3" in the wheelbase and 6" behind the rear wheels). The trunk length looks about the same as my 62 Electra. The Wildcats, LeSabres and Invictas have a noticeably shorter trunk. Whichever it is, it is still a nice car.
it certainly has wildcat interior. as far as i knew electras had bench seat, and wildcat had buckets and a console i do see what you mean about the 3 and 4 ports on the fenders though. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Alex15143/09d6_12.jpg another angle http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Alex15143/0678_12.jpg
Watched that one on the 'bay, looked like a decent ride. Right now there's a gorgeous Chalet Blue '60 LeSabre 2dr sedan w/ a manual trans that I'd kill to own on there.
just got the car home last night! it took 8 freakin hours to get to anaheim because of the 5 being closed. so instead of being there at 5 i got there at 9, then ended up taking the 101 all the way to paso then hooking 46 to 41 back home. ran a little warm in hollywood due to traffic, but after that it was smooth sailing. if you want to call leaving at 1 in the afternoon and getting back at 4 in the morning smooth sailing! the car had its fenders swapped from an electra, the story is that at hootenanny two years ago mike ness's bus backed into the right fender, so since replacement wildcat (3 portholes) fenders are scarce, they were replaced with electra (4 porthole) fenders. i'll shoot up a few pics tomorrow, but its home now!
Sweet car ! Makes me miss my old '64 Wildcat convertible. Damn I miss that car..... Congrats on your new ride ! Can't wait to see pics when you've done all the mods ! Todd
They only made around 2000 Wildcats in '62. I had one about 7 or 8 years ago. It was smashed in the front and I also replaced the clip with a 4 holer. You can't find the 3 holers anywhere. I paid more for the clip than I did for the whole car. Mine was white with a red interior (and a maroon front clip), 401, buckets, factory tach..... Mine went out of state, AZ I think. My buddy Teddy "Short Arms" has one. Black / Gold, it's lowered and runs chromies. Putts around H.B. with it every day. You won't see too many of those rolling around. They're sweet rides and definately haul ***...... Congrats !! You scored. Rob.
the tach was supposed to be mounted on the very front of the console right? i have the hole for it, but no tach....seems to be thats the only thing missing from the car. i have all the trim and not sure yet if i want to put it back on or not. i will keep my eyes open for some 3 hole fenders, but it's not a major priority. thanks for the info, i knew the numbers were low in '62, but i didnt know they were down to 2000! nice score indeed

for sure keepin the rally wheels! they flow with the car so well. it had supremes and wide whites, but i think the rallys and thin whites fit the car better. thanks for the props, i cant wait to get interior done! </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
