So the intake is a open plenum with the runners that start on opposite sides for some length?...If I am reading that pic you posted right?.......Thanks for posting...Littleman
That would be correct in that it has an open plenum and the runners come across. If you closely you will see they are all equal length which really helps in balancing out the mixture to each cylinder as opposed to the old conventional single 4 intakes where you have real unequal distribution because of having 4 short and 4 long runners.
I am thinking that intake would be better for my current setup........will they be available seperate? minus a top. Have they been prices as of yet?..I could make my own top with my current spacing so much will not change up top...Again , thanks for taking the time to talk about your new stuff!!......Littleman...I understand the main focus are the new carbs...but that intake has the potential to be a great upgrade as well...
At this point I am not aware of any plans to offer just the intake by itself. It is kinda like the intake we use with our Six Shooter packages where the demand is pretty steady for the kits so we make sure we have enough intakes on hand to build the kits as the dealers order them.
Ok, thank and understand..............I was just thinking it would save me some time...I have plans of grabbing another old Offenhauser intake and milling the top off and redirecting everything and make my own top this coming winter.I have some of my own ideas as what to do inside the intake as well......just always looking for that hp gain...Littleman...I could even start with a blower intake and go from their...
Ok, as promised here is the pricing information for the new kits. The prices are "racer" and they can be purchased through your local dealers. If you go to our web site there is a link on the front page for the dealer locator and it pulls up a map of the country where you can click on the areas around you to see who we have. Actually the Badman is still a couple of months away but I do have the preliminary pricing on it. Plans are to offer several different versions . Here is the pricing on them. [1] Badman in 675 or 775 standard finish - 2155.63 [2] Badman in 675 or 775 w/powdercoated inline carb - 2371.63 [3] Badman in 675 or 775 w/powder coated Aero Ram intake - 2371.63 [4] Badman in 675 or 775 w/powder coated manifold and carb - 2537.95
it probably for us guys that cant afford the big dollar ones, sota like shopping at macys or kmart lol - just kiddin
The Econo Comp is the Aero Ram intake with a single conventional carburetor on it. It is offered using the carburetors from our Mighty Demon line in sizes anywhere from 575 to 850 .
If you look at the picture on page one of all of the packages in one picture it will be the one in the upper right with the blue fuel line on it. I should also probably mention that the air cleaners in the pictures do no come with the packages but were just used to show representation of what you could do with any of the ones that are already out in the marketplace. The top on the 98's is the same as the 97's so the air cleaners will interchange.
Thanks and yes they do work pretty nic. Real smooth and responsive but another benefit of the multiple carburetor ones is with the linkage being progressive we are seeing better fuel mileage as well. Basically you ride around on the primary carb or carbs and when you want the performance bring the other ones in so its like driving around on a 2 barrel most the time.
whats the pricing on that one???..Also would I be able to buy a top plate for the dual or trips set up down the road???
The Econo Comp is 1291.63 and although we dont have part numbers and pricing on doing the individual tops and carb packages it has been discussed and they will be made available at a later date.
I made it thru four rounds of eliminations last night at the DragStrip using my old 94's and ran in the 11.40's all night......So you can be real consistent with the old stuff as well....I lost in the semi finals because I cut my only bad light of the night.............my bad.....Littleman.........the Goodguys show is a great place to show case your new parts.
im loving the set ups that you showed on the first page, i can wait till the SBF stuff comes out!! i hope youll be offering the BadMan set up for them.
i like the old stuff as much as all of you guys but i have been running a Mighty Demon on my daily driver 51 Ford for the last 3 years and i swear by it! i HATE Holley carbs never could get one to run right for the life of me. but the Demon is like a Ronco commercial, just set it and forget it. so i can imagine how nice the 98s are.
I totally understand and get it..and would love to play w/ them.........but if my hands are not dirty..I feel bad...Littleman....nor does the word progressive exist in my vocabulary..he he..........using the old carbs is like riding and caring for an old Harley......your always tweekin on it......its a bad evil love affair..I myself blend the use of new and old parts....
Definitely will have the Badman for the small block Ford as I am going to run one myself. Should be out by the end of the year as well.
I am sure you are already aware of this but thought I would mention it for the others in that you do not have to run them progressively if you don't want to. It would require changing the linkage and a little tuning but could be worked out. Btw, I liked the comparison with the old Harley as it does seem a lot of the guys we have talked with seem to be constantly having to tinker with the old 94's and 97's.
So is there another intake being produced that the 98's will fit for a sbc? I like the idea of the carbs, but I hate the looks of your intake. Too new for me.
Our 98's will fit most of the old intakes out there that use the 3 bolt carb flange for the 94's and 97's .
Sweet. How much for the 3 deuce carbs with linkage? No manifold. Sorry to be hammering you with questions.
The carburetors have a racer net pricing of 427.63 each . In regards to the linkage because these kits are so new we have not pulled each of the components out yet and ***igned parts numbers or pricing so there is not any info available for that on the 6 carb stuff at this time. We will at some point in the future be doing that but at this point the only linkage kits available are the 2 carb and 3 carb along with an adjustable fuel log for the 3 carbs.
I bought one of the first BG carbs when they first started making their own....one of the "Claw" carbs.....total POS.... Burn me once...shame on you.....burn me twice...shame on me.... As much as I'd like to 'try' these new 98's.....I still have that bad taste in my mouth from that "Claw" carb...... Root.....you can get the carbs on Ebay (or other vendors...@ $380 ea.) and make yer own linkage with parts from some of the Hambers here that have it....like ****ster27, UncleMax, Savage, Vaphead, Stromberg97, and a few others....
