at 9:00 on the discovery channel "SOUTHERN CHOPPER" debutes. The previews actually showed a fellow using an english wheel. Maybe this show will be more about building and fabricating rather than argueing like AMERICAN CHOPPER. we will see......... Dale

Yesterday I saw at least a half dozen people wearing the Southern Chopper T-Shirts at the Calvacade Of Customs in Cincinnati. I guess they got a jump on the marketing.

Whatever happened to chrome handle bars? I think handle bars and forks should always be chrome on a chopper!
Thats a nice bike but it dosent really flow, the tank runs downhill in the front, something just dosent look right...could be the sissy bar and pipes too!

On second thought, if it had some tall chrome ape hangers on it, it would prolly work with the pipes and sissybar.

I have to give these guys credit. They are bike builders. There are so many companies today that put together "kits" and call them choppers. I have built a number of bikes, one recently shot for an Easyrider spread, and I can't belive how many people are out there nowadays proclaiming they are building bikes. At least these guys make their own stuff. Everything else, in my opinion, is just a kit. Kinda like stretching a Fiero, and calling it a Ferrari.
To each his own I guess.
    Hope the show last.

Goofy ****ers know how to have fun at work. Lots of mouthing and teasing going on, alot like the shop TrailerEd and I work for. These guys aren't a bunch of arrogant *******s either.

  19. I think the handlebars are horrible. It looks like they're trying to make them their "trade mark" or something, since all the guys were riding bikes with similar styled handlebars. It looks like they tried to take some 60's or 70's ideas (pipes and sissy bar, for instance) and cram them onto a 80's or 90's style bike. Just my opinion...I wish them all the best, even if I don't like what they're building.

Yeah, I think the Bike itself looked pretty good but the Handlebars and Exhaust screwed up the overall look.

  21. Actually...I LIKED the exhaust and sissy bar the most! I thought the BIKE screwed up the exhaust! [IMG] Seriously.

What a cool show! Found it interesting how alike Randy, Paul Sr. and Jr. talk when they're narrating, kinda funny how alike they're matter-of-fact tone is, no matter where they're from or what accent.
Especially liked Wolfey, glad to see a zen master in the bunch. [IMG] Teachin' his young gr***hopper patience...
So was that the series premiere?

First and formost, I applaud there efforts of these guys. Its nice to see some pounding of some tin. ( I also think thats why those new guys are on american chopper were hired) That being said the bike seemed gimicky and cheap. I didn't like it at all, very 80's.
And what is it with the south and the color pink? Do they paint there cars ,trucks, motorsyckles after their b*** lures? But if you say "hey nice pink bike!" they get offended and reply "its not pink, its deep magenta."

I think both shows could be killed by adding one more week to build the bike , therefore no more..... Whats Paul senior going to do, he's running out of time and so .. in order to justify his temper tantrums he ****s with Mikey, or yells at someone else.. seems both shows have so much scripted ******** drama that its wearing kinda thin, I really like the bike build up, but the drama has to go. . If the Milwakee owner knew that the Daytona show was 2 weeks away, why does he wait until the last second to start the bike? IM just and old man who plans ahead a little more...

slid by the easyriders show in charlotte, nc sat nite, and apparently they have been broadcasting this show for a while in waffle house's, everyone at the show already had their milwaukee iron shirts on. (no offense to actual waffle house patrons) the bike in question was at the show as well. not sure if the camera adds 10 pounds or what, but it didn't make the bike look any less odd than the show did.

I like the show but not the bike they built. I love the others that they were riding. I love thier old school early Harley style tanks like on the bike Wolfey was riding. Oh yea, whats up with his laugh............?

I saw the commericals, but I have not watched the show yet. But I have a question ...

If the show is filmed in Milwaukee, Wisconson, WHY IS IT CALLED SOUTHERN CHOPPER?

They are in Virginia......The name of thier shop has to do with where Harley's are from......
