You have to run some kind of electronics because the 5.7L hemi's don't have a distributor.

MOPAR sells a carb'd crate engine, so a carb manifold is available.

Street & Performance may sell a harness to install a 5.7L and keep the injection, etc.

    Good Luck.

There are shops everywhere that can handle that "computer crap" for you once you get everything installed. Once they set it up, its good to go.

With modern engines, computers are your friend :) You'll loose power and ALOT of gas milage by downgrading to a carburetor. It can be done, but I don't see the point. Wiring isn't all that scary.

i challenge anybody to get the kind of power and mileage i am out of my CARBED 461 olds with EFI on another big block. 14+ mpg around town in a 4000lb car with 450hp and 520ft/lb.

stick to the real engines man...build them right and keep it simple. plus the modern engines are ugly anyhow. this IS a traditional board you know, right?
