I found a site online that has all kinda stuff that the parts stores dont list, not only for pontiac, but packards, and other stuff... I was lookin for brake parts for the '56, along with an axle seal, and other parts...turns out these guys list complete brake kits, from master cylinder to shoes, and everything in between.... Kanter, anyone used them before? the rear wheel bearings were a lil more expensive than the local parts store listed them for, but, the other stuff, they didnt list here, and this site had what looks like a good deal on stuff....
Yes, I've used them before. The grease seals in my '57 rear were shot, that meant two new wheel bearings at $75 a piece. They had them and shipped them quick. I knew the price so there were no suprises. I even got a bumper sticker for my tool box FREE! $$$$$ At least they have a good reputation with the restoration crowd. Bil
I know a lot of people have a problem with auto zone, mostly from their stocking of chinese made parts, but i guess that goes hand in hand with catering to a mostly rice burner clientele...but, they had my rear wheel bearings at $15....they didnt list any of the other stuff I was looking for, so the search went to the net...Kanter seemed to have pretty good prices, compared to what I was expecting to pay for stuff...
Got a couple valves for my Hemi. They called me back twice with questions to make sure I got the right ones. Very pleased with them.
I used them to do a frontend rebuild on a '65 Biscayne. They had everything in stock and then told me that if I ordered a "Kit" I could save a few bucks. Good people and parts were first class when I got them! A 2 thumbs up in my book...for what its worth
This is EXACTLY what I love to see, a company that cares about their customers and understands that good customer service is what keeps people coming back and spreading the word. Sorry if this is coming off too "sesame street" but I'm just so tired of doing business with companies whose hand you need to hold just to get what you wanted.
they sent me the wrong wheel cylinders for my olds, called them up about a return and they didnt have me on record.. same thing happened to another guy i know, same problem. good side is, all i need to do is dig up my receipt, copy it, and mail them back... no questions asked. being on the other side of the country can complicate things, delivery times are longer
Have ordered parts for both my 55 and 57 Pontiac and have always talked with knowledgeable people on the phone and have always gotten my parts promptly AND correctly.Highly recommended! Another source for older parts(also knowledgeable people manning phones)is Northwestern Auto Supply in Grand Rapids Michigan.Don't have their # offhand(in the garage)but they are good also.
