Anyone remember the Stromberg 97 Scott tops?
We're looking at re-popping them and wanted to get some hamboner opinions.

We don't know if there's ever been a top like this made for a '94, but ... why the hell not?

    Well...what'dya guys think?

Would you put this on your car?
Since you couldn't run an air cleaner, we were wondering how much of a deterrent this would be and if we could figure out some kind of screen gasket underneath the top plate if this would make all the difference?

I think the modern "H-Logo" really hurts them.

I personally would rather see a SP type oval mouth for a 94.

but they are interesting. i do think the logo hurts it a bit.

If you do decide to do the Stromberg style, be sure to build in the provision for the accelerator pump fulcrum spring - unlike some others that have been done without it. I gotta say ditch the H as well.

I like the idea. I second the oval mouth SP style... how about an H in a circle cast on top? that would look good.

Scott tops not so much, but I'm all for the SP tops for Holley 94's just like everyone else. I've seen them for Strom 97's but not the Holley 94's

The H isn't horrible but I think I like the way you cast "HAMILTON" in youre other cast parts, it makes it them look much more vintage.

To clear up any possible confusion, these parts will all be cast, not billet.

Here is a quick image edit with the correct complete logo and the block lettered HAMILTON as requested. Thoughts on these versions?

Thanx for all the replies. I just spoke to our idea's guy and he had in the back of his mind to do Scott style tops for the rochester as well. Look for it in the next X months. I'll probably post on here some style questions when i get to it.

We are very interested in what you guys would buy. What you would put on YOUR hotrod.

    Jason.

    Sand cast or die cast?

I like seeing stuff like this. But I'm picky. I had a set of scott tops - sand cast with the stacks a lot like yours. Fit was poor. They were pencil holders for a couple years in my garage and I couldn't give them away. Then I put them on ebay and got something like $150 for the pair? Go figure.

    Good luck.

We regularly sand cast our parts. The difference between die and sand casting is the detail level, not the fit. You had a poor fit with a pair of Scott originals, because they were originally an imprecise pattern and then poorly machined.

We coordinate measure and CNC machine all of our parts, fit will not be an issue.

Correct. Both SP and Scott style carburetor tops remove the choke. There is a provision to mount the choke lever assembly so that you can keep your idle screw.

Any thoughts on the doing SP tops in the future. Like others have said, I'd be into those.

Seems like you guys are doing some neat stuff. Any flathead V8 intakes in the works?

  24. Do the oval tops for the Holley 94's and I'm interested in 12 of them.

  25. Keep us informed on these. I'd be interested in the SP 94 tops and even the Rochester tops.

Good job on the re-logoing! I like the "Hamilton 97" logo. Could you do some magic with your fancy computer program and show us what a SP 94 top would look like just for S&G's? Again- I like the new logo'd SCOTT tops very much.

Oh, and a tall-runner Thickstun PM7 style intake would be nice too... or an Almquist style finned 2x2...
