So, out of the blue I get a message from Ron. I don't know Ron other than he's somebody on the HAMB. He says he has some T-Bird seats and wonders if I'm interested. He said that he remembered me being interested in some that were in the classifieds a while back but they were in CA. (too expensive to ship). He sends me some pix and gives me a great deal on 'em. Wow, how cool is that? Man, I love this place. Thanks Ron! These are going in the '50 Chevy. Seat pix
Cool score. But the slideshow tripped me out. I thought my 'puter was flubbing up again! See ya next weekend? Jay
How about this: I post a classifieds looking for a cheep 49-52 chevy roller... 2 minutes later (exactly) i get a PM from a guy near bosten, basicly giving the car to me... Yea i needs a little work, but for what he wants for it ... ILL TAKE IT!!!!
Good score! Those seats are great. Are you gonna use 'em as-is? Got any plans for fitting that back seat? Me & evilfordcoupe stripped some seats just like those out of a 'bird. The fronts are going in his 33 and the rear is going in my tudor sedan project.
I haven't spoken with anyone who's used these in a '49-'52 Chevy but I'm hoping they (the back) will fit (wrap around)in pretty easy. The fronts shouldn't be any problem but I'd like to have them swivel. They look to be in pretty good shape (one small hole) so I'll probably use them as-is other than dying them a different color.
buddy has the rear in his 53 buick and it fits nice.. The rear is a two piece right? so you can make it fit and just build a center console to fill the void..
Donnie, Like I told you at breakfast, hatch and I met Ron at a Road Rockets show in Indy a couple of years ago. He's a good guy and those seats should look very cool in yer Chevy.
