  1. I am not much of a joiner of any sort, however, since I know little to nothing about flathead V-8's I thought that I would join your site. Please do not inundate me with too much information, it will be a while before I can get into the engine I have acquired. I traded some welding work for a Cadillac flathead V-8 which I believe to be a 346 cid, the owner said that he thought it was a WWII tank engine. It looks complete, including what I think is a period hydromatic transmission. The man I traded it from told me it was last used on a logging yarder and had been running before he acquired it. I know that loggers are not the best at machinery maintenance. I fear this could be a can of worms, but I choose to remain optimistic as I would love to get it running and put it in the first vehicle I ever bought, a 1954 Dodge pick-up.
Thanks in advance for any and all help you all may provide.
