I'm Jay and live in Phoenix Arizona. Looking at building a hot rod this year. Something from the 20s or early 30s. I come from a sandrail back ground and have built many from scratch. I have lots of fabing experince. To pay the bills I am an IT manager by day. However, on weekends it is all about being in the garage. In fact, I just bought a house in Ahwatukee (Phoenix suburb) and the number one requirement was that it have a four car garage. My wife was all for this so that she does not have to put her daily driver in the hot sun. I have a 6 year old son and he has been next to me while I weld and grind since he was born. He is also into cars and keeps modifying his bike to look like one. Every thing he gets is now painted satin black with red wheels! Anyways, glad to be here with so many experienced hot rodders.
Have you guy's heard about a show this month in Ahwatukee? I got some third hand info that said there was a rat rod show this month. Have not found anything online though.
