Hello - just introducing myself ( which i hate, sorry ) - i hav a 65 mercury montclair, just changed her alternator - my first project by myself - woohoo she runs - lots more to go - 49 ford truck in garage, not running, clutch, apparently but she's just gonna hav to wait ... alrite i did it ..... thanx for all the help in advance

Welcome! One of the best automatic transmission builders I've ever known was named Sue--the car doesn't care if it's been worked on by a man or a woman. As Sue pointed out to me (I'm a big guy with big hands), having small hands can be an advantage when you're working in a confined space.
