My name is Bill Schickling. I live in the frozen world known as Upstate New York near Lake Ontario. Think Lake effect snow. I am in the process of building a 1940 Chevy pickup. My goal is to make the truck look like something a guy would build in the late forties or early fifties. Pretty stock extrerior with some period speed equipment on the engine. Looking forward to learning some things from everyone here.
Welcome Bill. I like your website. Truck will look awesome when you are finished. I have just purchased a 46 chevy truck that I will build later. Now chopping a 53 chevy 210 post 2dr and have a 51 merc coupe to do after that. so I have some projects to keep me busy for a while. I know you will like the HAMB there is a lot of info on here that will help you. Thanks, BOBBY FORD
Now...how many Bill Schicklings could there be in Upstate, NY near Lake Ontario? Is the Healey your old Bugeye?
Welcome Bill. I'm just an FNG too..... but anyway I had a 39 Jimmy with a hot SB 30+ years ago before I left M***. Sold it for 75 bucks cause I had to bug out quick.
The one and only. Glad to see you found this place. I showed it to Jim but I guess it didn't appeal to him. I'll be following your '39 build. I have a '36 waiting for it's turn in the shop. Bill, this is a great place to find info and parts. You will be amazed at how many people from your area are on here. Do a search for Oswego, Syracuse, CNY and see what pops up. There are a bunch of shows within driving distance as well. The Jalopy Showdown in York Springs, PA is a blast if you can make it. See you on the board, Stevie G
