Been lurking for a while. Unfortunately the rig I'm rebuilding falls outside the H.A.M.B. guidelines-It's a '67. No room in my stable yet, but I'd like to build something like my Avatar. Anyway, I've been doing sheetmetal work--replacing panels with aftermarket repops, reconditioned, and hand formed bits, and working on tackling the interior as I have access to an industrial machine with a walking foot. So, while my rebuild is more or less off-limits for me in this particular forum, whatever expertise I have gained may help on someone else's build, so I'll more or less be lurking as I'm more along for the ride, hoping to pick up any additional knowledge I can.
Hi & welcome. There is lots of Model A stuff out there waiting to be found & if you know how to look you could come up with the basics for a good build. Most of the old junk yards have disappeared but some are still out there but just hidden and they often have this stuff. What part of the country are you located at? If you have a shop you could try a sign there stating you are looking for old junk yards & such to prowl for parts. You could find a gold mine of old rides if lucky. Jimmie
I'm in Idaho. Lots of good old steel in farmer's fields out here, if you can only get them to let go. I'm not quite ready for starting another project, my 'shop' amounts to a very small garage where I have to move everything to the driveway. Sometimes spend more time moving gear and my car in and out than I do actually working!
