Hi to all. I go by the "brush name" of DOG. That started 'cause when I used to sign my initials (DJG) the "J" looked more like an "O" and people asked why I signed "DOG" so I just kept it I started out as a fan of custom paint back in the '60s by studying the work of Dean Jeffries (I even had a hand painted sweatshirt by Dean 'til my Mother burned it for being "evil" ) and later, others. My hero since the later '60s has been Ray "El Vago" Smith. Although I have not had the good fortune to have him as a "hands on" teacher, I have admired his work for almost 40 years. I just bought my first "swords" and paint a little over a year ago, and hope to get a handle on the whole thing sometime in the future. I am a retired musician, writer, composer, and arranger. I LOVE hot cars and motorcycles. I live in the mountains of Tennessee (near Pigeon Forge/Gattlinburg) and hope to meet some of you some day. I call my "business" DOGHOUSE DESIGNS and can be found at www.frontiernet.net/~dj.garrison stop by and take a look.
Welcome to the loony pile DJ! Nice intro by the way;I'm sure the,"Intro Police" will be ecstatic! For those of you on the forum,DOG is my brother-in-law and probably one of the finest musicians around. He's probably forgotten more about music than a lot of us will ever know. We first met in 1965 when we stationed together in Maryland. We could probably write a book on all the little escapades that happened down there but this is a family oriented message board, right? Anyway he's here and I gotta tell you:He stripes a hell of a lot better than I play guitar! Welcome aboard brother. Ray
