Hello! I am new to this site and would like to ask a question about my Ford. I will be receiving my Ford in a couple of days, arriving from California. Very anxious to begin this journey with my two sons, ages 10 and 12. I was looking at the VIN but cannot figure out if the information I received from my God father is correct. He says it is a 1949 but according to the VIN I show; 88RD122**X. Can someone break this vin down for me? It does not have an engine but the trans is coming with it. I would really like to find the right engine that was original to this truck. My intention is to completely refurbish it to its original state.
