Greetings to all, and thanks for letting me in. This first post will serve as a brief introduction; as I am fairly busy on two other forums and expect I will do the same here, I'm sure we'll all get to know each other pretty quickly... So, at 64 years old, I'm just about to fall backwards into my first older vehicle. And it's going to need lots of love. And it's way out of my wheelhouse - I've always been more into '60's-to'80's American muscle and European sports cars. But it seems the older I get, the more I appreciate the beauty of American cars built before I was born. This project may end up with entries in numerous categories on this forum. Much like my Franken-cycle, the '51 Buick will likely be part rod, part custom and part resto. Again, thanks for letting me be a part of this community. I hope to be able to make meaningful contributions as time progresses. Until next time - Chris
Oh crap, another friggin' new guy. JUST KIDDING...welcome to the HAMB. As you spend more time here, you'll see it has a real community/family like feel. You should be quite comfortable, as everyone is quite helpful.
Welcome to the HAMB! Develope a thick skin and this place loves pictures of any sort, as long as they are car related and within the guidelines of the forum.
Thanks to all! I get the feeling I'm going to be comfortable here. I'll get pictures posted as soon as I start a thread and actually do something with the car! A few other minor priorities get in the way right now, but soon...
Welcome! I'd suggest once you are ready, start a build thread. If you have a question about something that could/would help others in the future and is not specific to your build, start a thread on the query. As others have said this playground has guidelines, so try not to kick the ball over the fence.
Welcome and look forward to following along on your Buick build. I had a lot of fun in a 50 Buick I had recently.
Let's see some pictures of your Buick, we love pictures. Welcome aboard we need all the Buicks we can find.
Thanks, Bob. Yep, the paint is as rough as a cob. But the panels themselves are remarkably straight with very little rust-through on the outside. The floor panels, now, they're a different story...
Well, if someone follows the rules, the intro goes in a separate area, which you have to go find. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/new-to-the-h-a-m-b-introduce-yourself-here.18/ I'll be the first to admit I don't go in there much. That's why I don't see most intros.
I like your Buick Looks like it has good bones it will be good to see it on the road .... it looks like you can leaf me in the dust.....
