Hay guys, I'm new here so bear with me. I have learned a lot from reading all the posts. Here is what I got, I have the 3" lowering blocks in the rear and I bought the aerostar springs for the front. ( which I learned from all of your helpful threads, thanks. ) I have searched high and low for info on what to use for lowered shocks. Wondering if anyone has any ****ific part numbers they may know about. I don't need anything fancy, just cheap.

Welcome! I could be wrong, but I don't think shorter shocks will be of any benefit unless you've altered your rear shock mounts. Even with the lowering blocks, the shock mounts are the same distance apart, therefor needing the same length shock.

Please... Somebody else chime in on this. Mine is a '52, not a '54, and may be different.

I have 3" blocks on mine and run stock shocks I think they are all the same. Its more of when you start to bottom out on your bump stoppers your looking at air ride suspencion. I think anything past the 4 inch blocks you need to change your shocks out for the air bags and c notching the frame.

I agree with missyadad, you have not changed the shock mount just moved the rear end 'upward'. With the shorter springs on the front your shock mounts are closer together (that is why I perfer lowering spindles on the front). But I believe you will hit the bump stops long before you bottom the shock.

If you need new shocks may I suggest KYB Gas-A-Just. They greatly improve the ride and handling and are not expensive. (think I paid $100.00 for a set of four at the Swap Meet).

Autozone usually stocks the Gabriel gas shock part# 81270 at $15.99 each they are actually about 2" shorter than the OEM shock,my '54 is not lowered and I had to add shock extensions so the axle would drop low enough to get the tire out of the wheel well, several guys on Fordbarn.com had the same problem and the extensions cured it.

    I'm guessing you're concerned with your scrub-line?
