Just became a member, but I've used this site for years to gather info and ideas on past builds!
I just recently purchased a 1930 modelA 5 window body and am looking for ideas! This will be a traditional hot rod style build!
Any info or ideas are much appreciated!

  2. Welcome. Off the bat, I'll just set you straight on one thing: all Model A coupes had 5 windows, so saying it is redundant.

If anyone says "what about sport coupes?" That is a different animal.;)

  3. Post some pics of what you've got to start with. That will help get the ideas flowing. :)

She looks rough but is actually pretty solid. 20210725_155440.jpg

  6. Oh yeah, that doesn't look rough at all - great start!
You can pick up a model a frame pretty easily if you keep your eyes open on craigslist, facebook marketplace, or even here in the classified section.
One step at a time and it will get there. :)

Thanks! I'm from Edna, Texas about 100 miles south of Houston.
My current plan is to fab a full custom frame from 2x4 3/16 wall rectangle tubing, And channeling the body the 4 inches.
Sounds like me I tend to collect never know when you or someone may need it!
Currently searching for a nice original trunk lid since almost every car seams to be missing that, but I may have one located near by!
