New to the hamb, okc area

Hey I'm mike. New to this kind of forum stuff. I'm building a 49 commodore rat rod. Im always up for some advice

 

Welcome from just up the road in Guthrie! Looks like a cool start to a project for sure and I think I may know where you got it. And, since you say you are up for advice...the first thing I might let you in on is to not use the r** r** term here. It is not well received overall. This forum is about traditional hot rods and customs and even though some use the r** r** term to describe them especially the ones that appear worn, there is a definitely a distinction.

 

Welcome Mike, My grandson would LOVE you car. Doc Hudson is his favorite car,{ character}. Yeah they don't use the r-rod term on here. So many people have built sketchy unsafe cars with newer that 1965 parts, like diesels mills, skulls, Rats, etc etc. Just call it a low dollar, and unfinished Rod. Like it could have been built before the 65. HAMB cut off date. But please build it to suite yourself. You can build it any way that you like. But you'll find if you talk about the newer stuff, the mods will delete it. Enjoy your HAMB time, and keep us posted on you progress. Thanks Ron........
