Welcome to the forum, but as previously mentioned, and just to help you avoid a possible minefield here, the R word seems to be frowned upon by many of the posters. The image of poor craftsmanship, workmanship, safety and general aesthetics that some of these vehicles have fostered is understandably a problem to many in the traditional rod segment of the hobby. While I personally have seen interesting, creative and well-built examples of this style of cars, and in fact some dynamite rods that just happen to be in primer lumped in with rats, you might want to refer to yours as unfinished, or a work-in-progress to avoid the wrath of the trad p.c. police around here.
Welcome to the HAMB.Make sure you "READ"carefully, what this site is about. People are very into "traditional rods", where they have put a lot of planning and effort into fitting a "traditional time period",to replicate the hot rods of earlier times. That does not mean, buffed through new paint,or trying to have the most rusted out death trap, with the most skull accessories. Sit back and check it all out,and see what you like the most.If you need info, ask and many will answer,if it's a safe well thought out idea.If it isn't they'll tell you that too,so be prepared to have an open mind,it's worth it,for the immense amount of knowledge available to you here.
Welcome to the HAMB. It's a great place for info but it pays to have a sense of humour around here. Great bunch of guys but every now and then you may geth***led. But if you take it with a grain of salt you will laugh your *** off.
a rat rod is what mickey uses on minny mouse.. you might want to place an add in the cl***ifieds as well ..
Before you get any pre-conceived ideas about the people here read the first sticky. Then you will know what we're all about. Then keep that in your mind if thing's ever get alittle rough here. As others have said the R word is taboo and trying to defend it will only make it worse, just friendly advise. Welcome to the HAMB.
maybe this will help and i quote The HAMB is dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums world wide. That’s right – TRADITIONAL. And we aren’t talking Beach Boys and poodle skirts here fellas. If you are into a-side 50’s pop, lawn chairs, ruler contests, and all things that make hot rodding warm and cozy then you might want to find another message board. If you aren’t sure what we mean by “traditional”, then you might think twice as well. If you’ve come here to set a rep, talk some ****, and make some fun then you had better turn around right now. We aren't patient. Even if you have come here for all the right reasons, don’t expect posting to be easy. We don’t cater to new fellas unless they show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours first. We welcome young, old, foreign and all – but our original members and our staff expect a certain level of respect and an effort to keep things true and on topic.
Holy ****... the HAMB police have spoken! Brother, call your car whatever you want to call it. Welcome to the HAMB. Let's see some pictures of what you are building.
