I have just joined after reading the posts for awhile. My Dad and I have built several cars over the years, including the chevelle that is in my pic. I have had it since the early 80's. We have enjoyed getting info from this site and hope to get more. We are currently building a T bucket out of parts that we have had around the shop that were pulled off of another rod or couldn't pass up at a swap meet. Some of them we have had for more than 25 years. We are wanting to put a ford flathead six in the t bucket. The tranny is closed drive shaft, but my rearend is open drive. I have found conversion kits for a closed drive rearend, but not for a tranny. Does anyone know if the there is a conversion for the tranny or a way to do it myself. I am not wanting to spend a lot of money. My goal for this project is to complete the build for under $3000.00. I can come in well under that if I can get this motor and tranny to work.

  2. Welcome from Arkansas. As for your question, you might have better luck posting it over on the main board.
