The home of the HAMB Drag Nationals. It will be on the west side, further back, and will have a single VIP suite. Werst Construction (go ahead and make the jokes, my racers did) of Neosho, Missouri is doing the shell, and then the Mo-Kan crew will do the interior. Here is a shot from the starting line that better shows the position.
Carl , You can mean you are going to take down the old tower? What`s the place going to be like without it. Bill "G***erman"
Scooby, buy your shirt right here! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211175 Might be a little low on the black, I'll check and post here. Bill, won't be the same, but I think it is a question of tear it down before it falls down, We'll have some sort of party the night it comes down. Before that day comes, I'll gather up some photos and post of the old girls 46 year reign as queen of the 'Kan!
dayum Carl... lookin good... not to mention all the space its gonna open up in the pit area. nice move, bold too. congrats
Have you thought about an auction for the VIP suite? If so, what would the VIP expect??? Fine chicks to wave palm leaf fans in his face and fetch cold sodas?? See you in August, -Abone.
Funny you should mention that Mr. Bone. I hadn't thought about an auction for the suite, but I had thought about selling it for the HAMB Drags. Once it is up and functional, we'll see how it goes, and then figure a price. Fine chicks, palm leaves and cold beverage optional.
That's awesome news, I love that place, spent most of my childhood in the pits there. Is Carl Blanton still running? "Keep on Smokin and Mokan"
Great news.........but the old tower had so much room inside it.......Here is a shot of the old tower from back in the day...... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109388&highlight=MoKan+dragway Chris Nelson Kansas
The Werst crew finally got some weather and have been out working on the new tower. As you can see the second floor is in, the rafters and roof are on, the bottom floor concrete has been poured and the girts are going up for the siding.
