Hi Folks, Just before christmas i was searching the net for something to do when i came across a car that i had always wanted, but couldn't afford especially in this country. So seeing as the exchange rate was right we thought we would take the plunge and buy it, but to make it worth our while we had to buy some other stuff (to sell). So Taildraggin started buying allsorts!!!! (think he got carried away) Anyway after delays (weather, Snow appartently) the container turned up today. We had just a couple of hours to unload a 45ft container. Didn't think it was going to turn up as the driver was late and had trouble getting to us (a couple of bridges that were 14'3 high, the lorry and container was 14'6, luckily he let the air out and just managed to squeeze under) So we opened the doors and this is what we saw!! Where's my toy??? i hope it's in 1 piece and as good as in the photo's!!! So we drag the truck out. Then i saw her. Yea i know there common as muck but she's mine So we dragged her out! I'm sooooo pleased a complete stocker with a rumble seat even started for a few seconds before the head gasket blew. Here's the other stuff we've brought in. When i've finished with the coupe she'll be running a desoto hemi chopped and channeled Daisyduke
Nice one - i finally got my container a couple of weeks ago with my 29 A in it. It was a long wait too.
congratulations nice buying will be a great project my rutherford ohv went back to the states then back to nz before i got my hands on it
That little coupe is a beauty! She even has a name already...Lisa!!! Says so right on the Licence plate. Congrats!!!
So she has i didn't even notice that ;-) Spent today taking the head off seeing as the head gasket blew. Also took out the seats seeing as i rodent who likes peanuts!!! been living in there!!! Daisyduke
Daisy,Bloody LOVELY lookin' ''A''.Might be common but you have to love them. What plans have you got for it,stickin' with the four banger or going V8?
Thank you, always wanted one then this turned up just in the condition i wanted. Stock, so i can get it registered in this country without (hopefully) to much trouble!!! Keeping the four banger for now till Taildraggin and i can chop, channel and put my hemi in (which needs rebuilding)
Chopped, channelled and hemi powered sounds the shit to me!Will you have it on the road this year?Hot Rod Drags maybe Flathead meltdown or the Hayride?Shouldn't be to hard to register because it is what it is a Model ''A'' Ford,I wish I had started with such a complete car.Hope to see it about soon. Nick.
Nice one Daisy. It's always nerve wracking when a container finally arrives with something you have bought sight unseen, even if you have had someone check it out. I have had the whole gamut, from joy to total despair.
Your patience, and strong desire to accomplish what your passion really is, it's something to be admired.... to purchase and bring cars accross to England. In contrast to people here who whine and complain about prices and parts availability--when we have good swaps and cars for sale every weekend here in So Cal. Nice work!!!!!! Enjoy your projects.
I hadn't seen the car until the container was opened only in pictures didn't even have anyone check it out!!! So it was a bit nerve racking. 60'shotrod, i have done the flathead meltdown in my T rpu and took it round the oval track at the hayride last year. Hopefully it'll be about this year but it'll be stock (unless i can convince Taildraggin to at least do the chop)
Daisy, is your ''T'' rpu the two tone blue one?Very nice ''T'' that.I've never been to the Hayride! But this year I'm goin' come hell or high water.Had planned on having my ''A'' done, but no chance for this year.Too slow/lazy/lack of cash!LOL.
Yea that's mine here it is. Thank you i also have the pink pick up you've probably seen around. Your A looks good (if it's the one in your avatar). We'll be at the hayride you'll have 2 say hi if u see us. It'll be good to meet.
Amen Dave, It takes a lot of money to ship stuff...it's nice to see someone overseas take on projects like this.. You have fun with your stuff. Please keep us posted on the project.
No probs, will do, that's why we shipped a lot of stuff in so we could sell it to cover cost of shipping cause it ain't cheap!!!! Thanks A32, hope u and Ginger are keeping well.
Daisy,I'll come introduce myself at a show when I see your rpu about.Yes that is my POS in my Avatar.Got it from Danny Stephens as a Flatpack!
Whoa, someone has been busy. I wish I had some of that stuff, but more importantly, I look forward to seeing what you do with it. Like others have said, after seeing your little blue one, the new one should be way cool. J.
Damn! this exchange rate is kiilin' us "yanks" One of our club members recently sold his Ford Kustom overseas. Looks like you got one helluva nice project. Really jelous, congrats! Still find it hard to believe that this shit is tucked away, and available. Someone please find me a nice cheap '39 Olds coupe!
