wanted to share with everyone my new toys..55 chevy 2 dr hard top 327/4 spd, pontiac interior, flipped frt spindles to give it the nose bleed, cut and flaired wheel openings..runs drives good..body kinda rough but considering it was built and driven in the 60's early 70's not to bad.. not sure how much i will do to it other than drive it but it will keep the same look even if i fix the body..side pipes may have to go..came from the Nashville Tenn. area..2nd vehicle has some history and maybe someone out there has more info they could share..it is a 36 international truck that was drag raced by Bobby Vaughn from the Nashville Tenn. area back in the 60's..it ran a gmc 6cyl with 5 single barrel carbs and a 4 spd..it was named "SURE FOOT" and also had "LIL MEL" on it named i'm told after his daughter..i have a picture of Bobby, his daughter and a gentleman by the name of Jerry Felts at the '67 NHRA Nationals at Indy in the winners circle while racing in the I/G cl***..also at some point it ran in H/G cl***.. please if anyone has any info about either vehicle please let me know..thanks for looking
I saw the 55 in Bowling Green at the Hot Rod Reunion this year. Very cool, but in need of lots of TLC. Congrats on the new toys
I like 'em both! PM me if you want to sell those sidepipes. They'll be going to a good home. Ive got a perfect '55 dash & some other stuff to trade. The pickup looks real solid.
