definitely would have been there but, it bumps right into the first weekend for 2009 B'ville Speed Week, gotta go to the "salt". Hope your event is a huge success and the weather is on your side.

 

Maybe a swap could be worked out. you pay my weekend at your show, I pay for yours at mine?

 

Spoke with Bob K about 15 minutes ago. He is hitting our show on the way to Bonneville.......trust me when I say it will be worth it. This place has to be the best place EVER for a hot rod show. Just wait for the video and photos from this weekend's cruise.

here's a name for the Show, K.A.R.S. (Kick Ass Reunion Show)

 

i been thinkin' about this and thinkin'... but i prolly wont go to this one. no hotel within staggering distance.

 

hmm....whats that smell i smell???? ohh yeah, its...........

 

nope... dawn and i only get days off together once every other month. otherwise it costs her vacation and weekend premiums and overtime. add to that, when i go for a "big car show weekend" kinda deal, i like the travel time, hotel, parking lot BS, i dig the adventure. the ride to the show, so i like it to be in another state, or at LEAST 5-6 hours away... when dawn and i go camping, its a relax and dont do shit kinda time for us. set up the travel trailer, open the fridge, mix a cocktail, start a fire and chill.

its a whole lot of things that just added up to, i dont want to spend my car show fund (which is SMALL these days) on a local weekend kinda deal

 

Sure there is. New London is maybe 10 mintues away, 15 tops. So is Waupaca.

So you sleep on the tent floor for 50's with Steve but you won't go to our show?

So it is me? Don't miss out on an awesome show just because I am so much more good looking than you.

Anyway Travis, We are cruising over there on Sunday. Call up Rob Paul and you could ride with him. Will be a good time. Steve is coming.

 

Finally something to do in August! I been through Symco,looks like a great place to party. They even have a bar if you can stagger across the creek!

 

They have a functioning bar on the grounds...which will be open for our show....not to mention there are two bars within a very short walking distance of the grounds.

 

10-15 miles is far from staggering distance. thats DUI distance in my atlas

back to the 50's weekend was, well... a flying trip up to MN to get steves A c-dan bodies and assorted stuff he got with them from Tuck. just so happened it was on BTT50's weekend is all, and my back suffered for a week after, so we got a twofer.

pulled an allnighter yankin the mill out of the willys, an i been up for close to 27 hours... worked 17 hours yesterday on the clock, another two this morning, and still need to get ahold of Moon so i can haul the mill down to fondy and get one his friend has for sale... then manyanna im gonna bolt the fucker back in the willys and maybe get some sleep some time sunday night...

man im tired

This might actually get me to finish a project. I'm in either way!

 

I'd like to thanks everyone who made the trip to the Shakedown preview on Sunday.

We had 16 cars in attendance and a bunch of people. Cliffy and I took plenty of pics which we will use on future publicity and advertising materials.

Those that were there seemed to all be pretty enthusiastic about the venue... it's pretty much "Gizmo Heaven"...

The world famous Bob K even made a detour from another show to bring his vette and his ragtop... thanks Bob.

yea cliffy weres the pics steve aka (LD) couldnt stop talking about how cool the place is sorry i couldnt make the cruise just didnt work out but ill tell ya what i will have my 54 chev gasser at the show some how some way well out to the shop lots of work to do

They even have an old steel boat there with a shoebox roof and a flathead in it. Cool stuff.


Yeah, I dropped the ball. I have been super swamped since I got back Sunday, haven't had time to upload ANY photos or video yet. Will surely do so this week.

You all can't believe how appreciative Rick and I are for your attendance Sunday.....and next year! it was good to see a few of you from far away come up for this. Hope you all had enough to eat and drink .

I am really looking forward to a fun show next year.

That looks a lot like the place the Blacktop Barons have their Roadblock show in May... except there's is in IL. Same kind of stuff though... no river or naked tubing though.

Preview was great! Yes I was the clown that looked like a turd in a punch bowl with the early '70's muscle car (I need a hot rod!)
