I have a 63 4dr galaxie and I just pulled my 289 due to a cracked head. I will be putting in a 302 and need help in figuring out what trans will work with this motor. Right now I have a 2 speed trans not sure if it came with the car. There are some numbers on the side - C3TP - 7008, underneath that it says W4. Any help would be great, thanks.
the motor and trans in the car if original are 5 bolt belhousing varieties ,meaning that the back of the block has 5 bolts to hold the bell, that lasted till 1964 ,newer than that will need matching trans the numbers look to be correct.
