Hi everybody, I am new the HAMB and occasionally have read a few posts... and i finally decided to get to know you people.

I live in Livermore, CA, and I am planning on soon to be driving my 51 chevy half ton daily. I traded for this truck mostly for my business, Miller Kustoms. We build custom stretched cruiser bikes, include ones with front and rear air bag suspension. Also we deal with all of the normal lowrider/cruiser accessories (www.millerkustoms.com). But enough with the advertisement.

My truck is a fairly nice, fairly original in decent shape truck. I got it for a steal, I traded a volkswagen for it straight across, and the owner threw in a set of original wheels and nice used ww bias plies. I planned on keeping a comepletely stock drivetrain until I rebuilt the brakes and found a comepletely trashed rearend, and got the truck driving and discovered a light knock, and toasted bearing in the tranny.

I am going to swap in a later model open driveline rear, and swap in an s10 t5 at the same time... I would've really liked to keep the 3 speed since i spent a bit of time making the parts for the shifter, but since i have to fix it anyways, an open driveline and OD would be nice.

Anyways, do any of you have an s10 t5 tranny you would like to sell? or trade? A rebuildable core is all i need. Any info would be great thanks a lot.

    Welcome to the HAMB millerkustoms.

I've got a 51 chevy 1/2 ton and I'm in the same boat, as far as swappin' out for an open driveline. I'd like to hear about your progress.

Hint: Pics are appreciated and don't be afraid to get detailed with your profile info (it's a little lite right now).

if you're gonna use the stock offset wheels, a 80-up caprice rear fits well...4 3/4 bolt circle on the sedans and 5" on wagons

Do you prefer miller or kustoms. [IMG]
Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the Chebby. One of the guys here has done that swap and knows all the ins and outs of it. I don't recall who but he'll probably see your post. [IMG]

    Welcome.
If you want specific information on the T-5 swap, just email me or send me a PM. I've done this in my daily driver ('54 Chevy 1/2 ton) and can give you part numbers for what clutch to use. It's a great swap.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I updated the profile..
And miller, kustoms, or Jeremy will suffice. but miller will probably be the easiest.
