I got a question because I have never bought NEW white walls before. There is blue stains on the white walls so I asked the seller why....here is his answer....the blue is not a stain it is washable all white wall tires come that way when you buy them new it is used to keep them from turning yellow. The blue washes of easy with hot water or a pressure washer.

Ok is he right or ********ting me?

    Thanks guys

I think that's usual for them to have a protective coating on them when new. I got mine last year, they had that stuff on them and it scrubbed right off. I didn't know it was to prevent yellowing but could be.

I've been running TA radials for about 30 years and they all come with the blue on the raised white letters.

The seller and Raceron are correct its just a protective coating. You may need to use a scrub brush to help loosen it up.

They use that to protect the ww's when they load a truck load of ww tires . That way the ww will stay white till they are mounted and cleaned up . Then you use soapy water and a scrub brush to clean the blue die off . They have been doing that for a very long time . WW tires are very easy to mark up ! They still use the same principal today .
That is what I was told when I worked in a Esso gas station when I was younger pumping gas .

Jim's point is a good one: the whitewall will stain from other tires being stacked on them, so be careful if you take your tires off your car - don't stack them or let one tire touch another. You won't be able to get the stain out.
