Have you ever wanted a car & was told maybe someday! Well today after 12 years I hauled The 1941 Willys From Bakersfield CA To Solo Speed Shop! This car is pretty famous! It was owned by Bernie Martinez The Gardner ! He was given this car in 1997 from one of his customers as he always did a great job for them & they wanted him to have it! Dual Carbs & all! At local car shows in CA Bernie was the King for a day when he showed off his Willys! Bernie is fine just thought it was getting time to sell his car! Tks Bill @ Solo Speed Shop! Plans! Bernie had no $ to put in car so it needs just TLC New hoses, rebuild carbs, ETC! Car is super rust free & super original! Tks! Bill

Now that is a nice find there. Brings back memories of looking at Hot Rod magazines and lusting over the gassers back then.

  15. Congrats to you for having the means to own one. Love the bumper!
The way the value has gone up on these cars, there's no such thing as a bad investment IMO.

Take your ol' Willys and go away. Everytime I went to Bakersfield I always saw that very, very cool car. Don't know what your plans are but I don't think you could get it any better than what it is except for what you said about freshening up the essentials.

    Willys update
Been working on Willys! Remember Bernie just drove it & got by the best he could!
I took off so much bailing wire I think I should take to scrap yard!
New battery & box! Both carbs rebuilt, plug wires, plugs, cap & rotor! It runs like a mouse W/ Slippers
    Tks Bill

Bernie is a great guy. I was drooling over this car over ten years ago at a March meet and he took a lot of time showing the car off and even gave me a ride. Congrats on the purchase.

Hey Steve! Tks! One day I want to be You!!! The Solo Speed Shop Willys #2 Has been in the paint shop! Bernie sanded it in 2004 & we couldn't save it so we stripped it down & painting it orange with not much gloss! Body was in unreal shape! One of the best I have seen! Tks Bill DSC05023.JPG DSC05023.JPG DSC05024.JPG DSC05025.JPG
